SaltSpring Kitchen Co. is a small batch, artisanal food production company that specializes in savoury jams and chutneys for pairing with cheese and charcuterie. SaltSpring Kitchen Co. is known for the inventive varieties and high quality of their jams.

Jam-maker Melanie Mulherin started selling the creations she made in her family’s kitchen at the Saltspring Saturday Market six years ago and found a loyal following, both from customers at her booth and through the Salt Spring Cheese Company’s farm store. Bit by bit, the company grew until Melanie was able to share her love of canning with jam aficionados across B.C. and in other parts of Canada. 

Since then, Melanie has developed a line of sweet, savoury, and spicy preserves that customers enjoy with cheese and charcuterie, in cocktails, and, of course, on toast. All of the preserves are made in our little “Jam Factory” on Salt Spring Island by Melanie and her small team of helpers. They are proud of their products, which are made in small batches with love and care.
