Entering through the café, a bakery display tempts you before you’ve even entered the restaurant. But as you continue through, evidence of the masterfully designed space beckons you to take in the expanse of the restaurant, where every table has a view of the waterfront. The warm atmosphere would be a great background for events of all kinds: anniversaries, birthdays, business lunches or a casual meet-up with an old friend for a beer and a pizza. Featuring an earth-stone wood and gas fire oven, Boom + Batten offers a range of pizzas that respect the traditional Neapolitan way of making the dish. In addition to the aromatic pizza, the restaurant is proud to provide cuisine that reflects the bountiful sources provided in and around the Island, from the seafood to the locally sourced meat and vegetables.
Executive Chef Sam Harris, who has been at the helm of other prominent restaurant openings, says this restaurant provided him with a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity. Harris, along with Chef de Cuisine Dion Ouellet, curated the impressive menu featuring local fare, which also showcases tasty classic-with-a-twist pastries from Pastry Chef Dominique Laurencelle. Passionate about their work, the culinary team have developed an in-house apprenticeship program to train budding chefs in preparing delicious Island cuisine.
