Brad Harris, founder of the Craft Beer & Wilderness Retreat, has a contagious passion for craft beer and home brewing. He is also an adventurous traveller, outdoorsman and lifelong learner who loves any opportunity to share these experiences with others. After travelling to craft beer workshops and retreats in other locations, it became clear that the pristine wilderness of Coastal British Columbia was the idea location for a new type of event in the Pacific Northwest.

The setting, Nootka Sound Resort, is a luxurious floating lodge on the Wild West Coast of Vancouver Island, where participants are invited to learn from and network with professional brewers, enjoy gourmet food & beer pairings, and explore the wilderness.

The 2019 retreat welcomes Kent Courtice of Boombox Brewing Company, Rebecca Kneen and Brian MacIsaac from Crannog Ales, and Ryan Parfitt of Luppolo Brewing Company – all local BC breweries.  Their expertise and their beer is unquestionably some of the best in North America!

Craft Beer and Wilderness Retreat at Nootka Sound Resort celebrates beer for the art form it has become. Gone are the days when mass produced standard international lagers were the only choice. Today’s craft brewers are reaching new heights in creativity and artistic expression.
