Established in 2011, Shelter Point Distillery uses their own barley crops to create handcrafted Artisanal Single Malt Whisky and Vodka.
Shelter Point Distillery

Shelter Point Distillery is located on 380 acres in Oyster River, BC, about halfway up the eastern side of Vancouver Island. Farmed for generations, Shelter Point remains one of the last seaside farms on the Island. What makes their whisky and vodka so bold and distinctive? Well, for one, they use only a single grain: barley. They do no blending, and all of the grain is either grown on their farm or purchased from BC farmers. The other unique ingredient is the pure spring water which comes from a mountain-fed aquifer located directly beneath their land.

Shelter Point Distillery handcrafts their 100% Single Malt Whisky, distilled batch-by-batch in traditional copper pot stills from two-row barley, and aged in American oak barrels in their oceanfront warehouse. When it comes to artisanal whisky, every element matters—and in the unique Vancouver Island, temperate rainforest climate, even the sunsets and sea air become integral.
