In case you missed our Thanksgiving information last week…

Happy Thanksgiving!

It's that time of year again, where we gather with family and friends and treat our taste buds and bellies to delicious dishes of turkey, stuffing, and pumpkin pie. If you're a little overwhelmed at hosting your first Thanksgiving dinner, don't worry: we've done half the work for you by curating a tasty Thanksgiving Dinner Party menu!

But, if cooking just isn't your thing, there are other options. Toque Catering in Esquimalt actually has a Thanksgiving-To-Go menu, so you can pre-order your meal for pick-up or delivery.

There's also the option of not having to worry about hosting the dinner at all. Why not take the family out for the meal instead? Veneto Bar Ristorante in Victoria has reservations available for a three course Thanksgiving dinner on Sunday, October 13th. Or, if you're out in Tofino, Lil Ronnie's Backyard BBQ is hosting a Grand Maman Thanksgiving Dinner on Monday, October 14, and their food line-up is sure to please.

If you're unsure about what kind of drink to pair with your Thanksgiving dinner, it might be a good idea to check out the Cascadia Thanksgiving Wine Pairings Masterclass in Courtenay. This class will help you choose an appropriate wine to go with your chosen dinner menu. Or, if you prefer beer to wine, check out Hoyne Brewing Company's Wolf Vine Wet Hopped Pale Ale. This beer is only made once a year and is brewed from fresh hops on Pender Island.

Watch for it

Tree Island Yogurt recently received approval to move their Royston-area site to land in Cumberland. The company plans to expand their production facility to 28,000 square feet (10 times the capacity of their current location).

One young entrepreneur is looking to change the way we grocery shop. Frankly Tofino is working hard to open their doors this fall, with the aim of becoming the Tofino’s first waste-free grocery store. The store plans to stock self-care items, household products, food, and kitchen essentials.

Now Open

Tidal Tacos in Nanaimo is now open seven days a week from noon until 6pm. The business will have altered hours in the coming weeks, so stay tuned on their social media so you are up-to-date on their hours and tasty menu.

Ucluelet, your town is the lucky location for new plant-based restaurant Yayu Café. Desiring to inspire people to live a healthier and happier life, the restaurant focuses on its philosophy of protecting animal welfare and reducing environmental impact.

Congratulations

Chef Ronald St. Pierre of Locals Restaurant in Courtenay was awarded the 2019 Local Champion Award. Additionally, he has been inducted into the British Columbia Restaurant Hall of Fame. Congratulations on your well-earned recognition, Chef.
