Happy Thanksgiving!
It's that time of year again, where we gather with family and friends and treat our taste buds and bellies to delicious dishes of turkey, stuffing, and pumpkin pie. If you're a little overwhelmed at hosting your first Thanksgiving dinner, don't worry: we've done half the work for you by curating a tasty Thanksgiving Dinner Party menu for you!
But, if cooking just isn't your thing, there are other options. Toque Catering in Esquimalt actually has a Thanksgiving-To-Go menu, so you can pre-order your meal for pick-up or delivery.
There's also the option of not having to worry about hosting the dinner at all. Why not take the family out for the meal instead? Veneto Bar Ristorante in Victoria has reservations available for a three course Thanksgiving dinner on Sunday, October 13th. Or, if you're out in Tofino, Lil Ronnie's Backyard BBQ is hosting a Grand Maman Thanksgiving Dinner on Monday, October 14, and their food line-up is sure to please.
If you're unsure about what kind of drink to pair with your Thanksgiving dinner, it might be a good idea to check out the Cascadia Thanksgiving Wine Pairings Masterclass in Courtenay. This class will help you choose an appropriate wine to go with your chosen dinner menu. Or, if you prefer beer to wine, check out Hoyne Brewing Company's Wolf Vine Wet Hopped Pale Ale. This beer is only made once a year and is brewed from fresh hops on Pender Island.
West Coast
If you find yourself in Tofino over October 4th–6th, you should definitely check out The Queen of the Peak, the Women's Surf Championships that showcase the incredible talent of Vancouver Island women surfers. 2018 saw more than 100 women and children compete in the event!
