It used to be that gluten-free food was synonymous with bland, dry and cardboard-like. That's what Judy discovered was the case when she was first diagnosed with Celiac disease in 1984. After her daughters were also diagnosed with the disease, Judy decided it was time to truly experiment in the kitchen with ways to bake gluten-free treats that were the opposite of the afore-mentioned adjectives. So, in 2014, Laughing Daughters Gluten Free Foods Inc.

FarmFolk CityFolk is a not for profit society working with farm and city to cultivate local, sustainable food systems across British Columbia. Our projects provide access to and protection of farmland; support local growers and producers; and engage communities in the celebration of local food.

Comox Valley Farmers' Market

The Comox Valley Farmers’ Market Association in a not for profit society that has been bringing local food to local folks since 1992. Over the last twenty-five plus years it has have grown from a seasonal Saturday market with a dozen vendors selling product off the tailgate of their pickup truck to a year-round Saturday market and two seasonal markets with over one hundred vendors selling a wide array of products that are grown, made, baked, raised or wild harvested within the Comox Valley and Strathcona Regional District.
