Huge congratulations to the Fairmont Empress Hotel! They've just been voted as the ultimate favorite historic hotel in both the United States and Canada by Travel Awaits Now. It's no surprise, considering that the Fairmont Empress is not only one of Canada's most elegant properties but also a proud National Historic Site. This prestigious recognition is a testament to their timeless charm and rich heritage.

Big congratulations are in order for two local chefs! Hats off to both of them for this remarkable achievement!

Closures

Rathjen Cellars, a charming farm-based winery nestled in the scenic Saanich Peninsula, has announced that they will be bidding farewell to their operations later this summer. It's a tough call for them, as they've been faced with a combination of challenges, including unfavorable weather conditions and the ongoing impact of the pandemic. It's always disheartening to see a beloved establishment close its doors, but let's raise a glass to the memories and exceptional wines created by Rathjen Cellar. Now is the time to stock up on your favorites before they close.

My Way Bikery, the beloved Jewish bakery that has been serving as Vancouver Island's only kosher bakery, has made the heartbreaking decision to close its doors. Located at the vibrant Victoria Public Market, it has been a cherished destination for those seeking delicious kosher treats and will be missed.

Sad news, wine and cocktail enthusiasts! After 5 years of serving the community delicious food and drinks, the time has come to bid farewell to The Collective Wine Bar.
