New Places and Spaces
 

Exciting news for downtown Victoria! Ate, a Filipino restaurant is set to make its debut on the culinary scene this month! Brought to you by the same team behind Hanks and Nowhere, they are thrilled to offer a unique spin on Filipino comfort food.

The team behind Black Fin Pub has expanded their offerings with a new sister restaurant called Dockside, situated just below their current location. Dockside, located in Comox, specializes in serving delectable small plates and features an extensive cocktail menu.

Downtown Comox now has a new oyster bar, a joint venture between Gigi's Oysters and Boonie's Pizza, bringing this exciting addition to the Comox Valley dining scene.

A recently established craft distillery has opened its doors on Salt Spring Island. Sweet Water Distilling Co., a family-owned venture, specializes in producing small-batch spirits crafted from locally sourced ingredients, offering a true farm-to-bottle experience.

Ox Eats Grass Outdoor Eatery is a new food truck featuring a delicious planted-based menu and outdoor covered seating.  They are located just minutes away from Ganges on Salt Spring Island. 

Owned by the same great people behind Vanilla Leaf Bakery, a brand-new restaurant has recently launched on Pender Island. Copper Otter Grill establishment is dedicated to serving elevated comfort food and handcrafted cocktails and offer breakfast, lunch and dinner service.

Two Crows Craft Food, known for their specialty wholesale mustards, compotes, spreads, and jams, has acquired the renowned Victoria Pie Company. Their plan is to integrate these two businesses into one. 

Closures
 

We're saddened to learn that Mountain View Vegan Bakery has closed its doors, marking the end of a wonderful 3-year journey.

After two decades of serving the Tofino community with delicious food, the celebrated SoBo has sadly closed its doors. The absence of Chef Lisa Ahier's culinary talents will be deeply felt.

After a five-year run, Sherwood Cafe & Bar has closed its doors on September 29th. This all-day cafe and bar had become a beloved and well-frequented gathering spot in the community.
