The market began in 1992 to provide local and organic farm-fresh produce, local foods, handmade crafts, artisan clothing, inspiring services and community education to folks from the entire Victoria and area region. Their summer market runs May to October every Saturday from 10 a.m.–2 p.m. Their winter market season runs November to April and continues every Saturday from 10 a.m.–1p.m. and has expanded to the Sir James Douglas School gymnasium.
