Nanoose Edibles Farm is active in the protection of the agricultural land in the region and follow cover cropping and crop rotational practices on their fragile land. They are constantly searching out new varieties of vegetables that are well-suited to the farm and Vancouver Island’s variable soil and weather conditions. Improvements in selection of vegetable varieties and extending the growing season are continuing goals of the farm.

The farm business has grown over the years, and the farm supports environmental issues, the 100 Mile Diet, school and adult educational tours, workshops, and local events. They also take part in local farmers markets and have expanded to produce a GMO-Free Market offering products from Vancouver Island. Additionally, they have a u-pick season that starts each spring on the weekends and run a CSA box program. The farm also provides produce for businesses and restaurants in Nanaimo, Parksville, Tofino and Ucluelet.
