Julie Ovenell

Julie has lived on one island or another for almost half her life and is delighted to now call Victoria home.  An award-winning writer, her professional experience spans journalism, tourism, and post-secondary education. She has advised university presidents, CEOs, agency executives, and government ministers on communications and marketing strategy, and has consulted on special events ranging from the the Olympics to Royal Visits. After journalism school, she worked at CBC Radio, Western Living, and The Globe and Mail, and freelanced for publications such as Canadian Living, Canadian Geographic, National Post, Vancouver Sun, Ottawa Citizen, Georgia Straight, Report on Business and Style at Home.
