When do you traditionally open your stocking?
Ever since I was a little girl, I have opened my stocking first thing on Christmas morning. I was always the first one out of bed and jumping on my siblings to wake up and get to it!
What’s the one special treat you especially hope is in your stocking Christmas morning?
I only get to choose one!? I love all the local goods our Island has to offer. The Little Lavender salve, Coal Creek Roasters truffles and Ravensong Soap & Candle are some of my absolute faves!
What’s your favourite cookie to find in your stocking?
I love shortbread and one of my favourites is definitely Martha’s Delectables traditional shortbread.
If your stocking was stuffed with some local libations, what would you hope for?
Wayward Krupnik, 40 Knots Stickshaker Wine, Unsworth sparkling rose Charme de l’ile, Sea Cider’s Rumrunner Cider and a delicious craft beer from Spinnakers.
What is your favorite homemade stocking stuffer to give or receive?
Homemade jam or preserves! There are some especially lovely jams and preserves made locally by Saltspring Kitchen Co. and That’s My Jam.
What is your favorite “edible” stocking stuffer to give or receive?
Local hot sauces! Tofino Hot Sauce and Islanders Fresh Authentic Mexican Sauces are two of my staples and I give them as gifts all the time!
What is the best local artisan stocking stuffer you have ever given or received?
Handmade local jewelry. I have been fortunate to receive some beautiful bracelets and necklaces from Salt & Moon.
What do you traditionally sip on while you are opening your stocking?
A good dark roast coffee with a little (or big) splash of Baileys to start, then I switch to tea. I am looking forward to enjoying Stonehouse Teas to sip on this upcoming Christmas morning.
