Edible Notables: Bicycle Pizza

The motto is simple, the food is delicious—and the business is booming. But that won’t come as a surprise to anyone who has tried Bicycle Pizza’s mouth-watering pies. Creating pizzas that combine the best of New York and California styles with Mediterranean flair, husband-and-wife team Andrew and Vanessa Johnson use food to connect with their family, friends and community—which means they’re always coming up with new ways to share the love of their old-school, classic dough creations topped with fresh, local ingredients.
Most recently, they launched a frozen pizza subscription service. Their pizzas are available frozen at select retailers, but Andrew and Vanessa decided to take the concept a step further. “We want to give people the opportunity to get their hands on the best darn frozen pizza product available, delivered right to their home or office,” says Andrew. “We want to shake things up and break up the typical path to purchase. Plus, a pizza subscription just sounds fun, doesn’t it?”
We certainly think so! Subscribe to five frozen pizzas per month to be delivered to your door—which means those nights you just don’t know what to make for dinner or don’t have the energy to cook up a storm, you can just reach into your freezer and easily heat up a delicious, pre-made pizza.
This is just one of many innovative ideas in the works at Bicycle Pizza, and we’re excited to watch them as they continue to flourish in their community. “We’re pumped to offer pizza subscriptions but also to introduce people to other great products and businesses. It’s exciting to consider how we can cross pollinate with other brands that we believe in, supporting other local businesses and upstarts and increasing our range in the process.”
