Ingredients
1 ½ oz Middle Mountain Magick Mead
1 oz Honey Shine Amber
¾ oz lemon juice
½ oz of honey syrup* (recipe below)
2 dashes of Rootside Orange Bitters
6 fresh blackberries
Method
Add blackberries to a cocktail shaker and muddle to release the juices. Add in bitters, honey syrup and lemon juice and continue to muddle gently. Pour in the mead and honey shine and fill the shaker ¾ with ice. Shake until chilled, then strain (with a julep strainer if you have it) into a rocks glass filled with crushed ice. Garnish with orange peel and fresh blackberry.
*honey syrup: stir equal parts (by weight) of honey and boiling water in a pot on the stove over medium heat. Stir until honey is dissolved. Allow to cool, then transfer to an airtight container. Keep refrigerated for up to one month.
