Vancouver Island is host to some of the world's most delicious food and talented artisans. Check out our Island Pantry to get a taste of our newest "made right here" items.

1.  Douglas Fir Essence from Snowdon House is a carbonated Douglas Fir Vinegar, similar to a shrub. With hints of floral and citrus, it can be enjoyed straight out of the bottle or in a refreshing cocktail.

2.  Sushi Snax uses wild sockeye salmon and wholesome ingredients to create fresh, nutritious snacks–ideal for your Sakura celebration.

3.  Elderberry/Flower Cider by Salt Spring Wild is made from organic elderberries, elderflowers, and heritage apples. Fragrant, tart and slightly dry, this just begs for spring sipping on the patio.

4.  We just love the bright colours and new flavours of these delightful macarons.  A French meringue-based cookie, the bite-sized treat is now available in several locations on the Island. Try Bon Macaron Patisserie in Victoria, Burnt Honey Dessert Company in Nanaimo, and OMG Macarons in Comox.

5.  The Ancient Method Balsamic Vinegar of Venturi Schulze will become your new favourite, and for good reason. Made from their own estate-grown grapes, with no additives or preservatives, the vinegar is aged in traditional wooden barrels to enhance the natural fruity aroma and complex flavours.
